Tango Academy was established in May of 1999, after the first ever performance of "Tango Argentino" in Lithuania.

 

The First Eduardo Gimenez students made a brilliant performance, taking part about six couples, plus Airida playing some tango pieces by piano, accompanying Eduardo singing. It coudn\'t have worked without the invitation of the artist "Elvyra Katalina Kriauciunaite" and her "Dešinė-Kairė galerija" (Right-Left Art Gallery), in the very center of Vilnius.

 

We started attending people involved in Art, music, theater, dance, cinema, design, etc. Also it is very curious to mention the amount of medics, biologists, economists, etc. Tango Academy already started giving several performances all over in Lithuania.

 

The stuning success in Lithuania was really unexpected, and nowadays, more than 300 couples have already passed by our lessons since April 1999. Getting offers to teach in High schools, Universities, from the musicologist and academical point of view.

 

Eduardo Gimenez along with his Tango Academy, have shown the whole Lithuania what the Argentinian Tango is, the real one! Now Tango Academy is being invited to travel to Estonia, Latvia and Poland. Our main purpose is to expand our horaizons and join "tangueros" (tango fans), and to exchange experiences, music, and passions.
