He was born the in Uruguay, Las Piedras, Montevideo‘s suburb. A city with deeply rooted traditions of tango where such prominent tango musicians as Jorge Rivero, Eduardo Gilardoni, and “the voice of tango” Julio Sosa, were born.
 
He studied musicology, singing and composition at the Higher School of Music in Montevideo.
In 1996, he got a scholarship from the Music Academy from Vilnius, Lithuania to study singing.
 
In 1999, he sang at the prestigious International “Bachakademie” choir in Stuttgart” conducted by Maestro Helmuth Rilling, across many countries in Europe.
 
In 1999, he founded “Tango Akademija” (Tango Academy) in Vilnius, Lithuania. The first ever tango school in Baltic States, teaching tango, as well as dancing, singing and playing.
 
In 2000, he traveled to Chicago to sing tango where he gave tango concerts together with the “Chicago Opera Theater” ensemble.
 
In 2002, for the first ever time in Vilnius, Lithuania he organized argentine tango and folk dance show performance from Paris, ( “Le Fleuve aux selles de vent” ) at the Drama Theater.
 
In 2002, he won with his founded ensemble “Tanguedia” (at the moment called “4 Tango”) the first place as tango singer, at the “Astor Piazzolla’s World Contest”. Moreover, the 6th place as tango music group called “Tanguedia” with musicians from Lithuania in Udine, Italy, 2002.
 
Along with Diego Ocampo and Valeria Ardito, he organized tango master lessons also with Gaia Pisauro and Leandro Furland, and others teachers.
 
In 2002, Eduardo created the dance theater piece “El Hijo del tango”, (“The Tango Son”) where they performed in the “12 International Modern dance”, in Kaunas, Lithuania.
 
In 2003, also the created a dance tango musical called “3 minutes of love affair”, at the Musical Theater in Kaunas, Lithuania. We celebrate already 6 years with non-stop.
 
In 2004, 2006,, he sang in the “Balkan tango Festival”. Belgrade, Serbia.
 
In 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007 he gave seminars in Riga, in Tallinn as well as in Kaliningrad.
 
In January of 2007 the traveled to Berlin, according to an invitation from the dancers and “Dj’s” Gaia Pisauro and Leandro Furland to sing at the “Milonga”ofBallhaus Walzerlinksgestrickt. Berlin.
In 24th of December of 2007, he made a gala concert with the “Vojvodanski Symphonic Orchestra”, directed by Berislav Skenderovic. Novogodisnji, Serbia.
 
From 2006, Eduardo Gimenez is organizing every year the Baltic Tango Festival from 2006 expanding tango culture all around the Baltic countries.
 
In 2007, he founded an electronic tango group called “Tango Gatos” with Lithuanian musicians, making it own compositions around the cosmopolitan tango essence.
 
The main aim is to mix up the “Rio de la Plata” rhythms with the “Baltic Sea” once.
It is a synthesis of emigration, sorrow, exile, and hope between two different cultures, but with the same pain passion, and the same questions…
